Research Area

KUISCID conduct research in the fields of virology, bacteriology and mycology. All microorganisms and the infections that have the potential to threaten public health are included in our research area.

Pathogens

We perform our research in virology, bacteriology, and mycology. All microorganisms that may pose a public health threat are in our research area.

  • Emerging viral infections
    • COVID-19
    • Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever
    • West Nile Fever
  • Antibiotic resistance
    • Mycobacterium tuberculosis
    • Gram-negative infections
      • Klebsiella
      • Pseudomonas
  • Fungal Infections
    • Candida infections
    • Invasive Aspergillosis

Diseases

We investigate the response of the body to the microorganisms, because some infectious diseases can only be understood by unraveling the secrets of the immune system.

We feel responsible not only for known diseases, but also unknown diseases that could be infectious in origin. We are reference center for investigation of unknown or unresolved infectious diseases problems.

Diagnostics

Besides the conventional methods, we search and develop novel approaches. We aim to develop easy to use, cheap, and accessible diagnostic tests for infectious diseases.
