KUISCID played an active role in its work at the 5th National Virology Days of the 8th National Clinical Microbiology Congress, held in Antalya from November 9-23, 2025. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mert Kuşkucu, Head of KUISCID Virology Department, chaired the session on arboviruses, one of KUISCID’s primary research areas. Dr. Kuşkucu also presented insights into current developments in the “Indispensable Methods: Cell Culture, CRISPR-Cas, Transcriptome Analysis, and New Biomarkers in Virology” session, which showcased visionary technologies in contemporary microbiology. He presented information on current developments with his talk, “Editing the Genome: CRISPR-Cas.”
Apart from these talks, Dr. Kuşkucu contributes to the practical courses “Optimization and Validation of Real-Time PCR in the Diagnosis of Viral Diseases” and “From the Kitchen to the Clinic: Sequencing and Bioinformatics in Virology,” which played a significant role in the training of our young colleagues.
