KUISCID supports the IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations) exchange program, organized annually by Koç University School of Medicine students. By participating in the exchange program, students who come to Türkiye find the opportunity to conduct research at KUISCID. This year, Simba, a medical student from Kazakhstan, joined the research team at KUISCID and participated in the macrophage cell culture assays of our TÜBİTAK 1001 project, titled “Investigating the roles of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae precursor virulence systems in sepsis pathogenesis by modifying them with the CRISPR/Cas9 system in an in vivo real-time mouse sepsis model.”
