Emerging viruses causing infections are a public health threat. Globalization, climate change and migration elevate the spreading rate and thus impact of viruses. While the COVID-19 revealed what drastic results a virus can cause, it emphasized the role of biotechnological approaches on developing treatment and/or diagnosis strategies.
