Human Bocavirus (HBoV) was first identified in 2005 during molecular analysis of respiratory tract samples and was associated with lower respiratory tract infections in children in Sweden. Although it wasn’t identified as a priority infection at first, new research has shown that bocavirus is not as innocent as we thought. The study titled “Community-Acquired Human Bocavirus Infection in an Immunocompetent Adult” conducted by KUISCID researchers was published in the journal Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology (IDCM). Congratulations to our researchers.
