The case report titled “Delayed gastric emptying associated with Strongyloides stercoralis infection and pancreatic adenocarcinoma” has been published in the Turkish Journal of Surgery.

The study addresses a case of delayed gastric emptying that developed postoperatively in a patient who underwent surgery for pancreatic cancer. Further investigations revealed the presence of a rare intestinal parasite, Strongyloides stercoralis.

Following antiparasitic treatment, a marked improvement in the patient’s gastric symptoms was observed, suggesting that this infection may have played a significant role in the clinical condition.

This case highlights that certain parasitic infections can lead to unexpected complications in cancer patients and during the postoperative period, underscoring the importance of considering such pathogens in the diagnostic process.
We congratulate our researchers.
