The 8th International Conference on Infection Prevention and Control (ICPIC) was held in Switzerland this year. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şiran Keske, one of KUISCID researchers, gave a poster presentation examining the ten year impact of judicious antibiotic use on antibiotic consumption at a hospital in Istanbul. The study revealed that antimicrobial stewardship programs have positively impacted antibiotic use, but challenges were observed in controlling broad-spectrum antibiotics during the COVID-19 pandemic. It also highlighted the importance of closely monitoring antibiotic consumption and resistance changes, as well as adaptive strategies, in combating resistance. Congratulations to our researcher.
